A petition opposing plans for Queensland's first legal nude beach, on the Sunshine Coast, will be tabled at a council meeting today. The nudist group, Free Beaches Australia, has lodged a submission with the Sunshine Coast Regional Council asking it to support a bid to open a nude beach. [Source: ABC News]

The Kapiti Coast District Council is looking at introducing a bylaw to turn the coast into one of the world's longest nudist beaches. The proposed area is 45 kilometres of beach that stretches from Paekakariki to Otaki. Stuff.co.nz reports: A festival atmosphere descended on Dunedin on Saturday with a unique highlight being an annual touch rugby game being played at nearby St Kilda beach. The only catch - the players were nude. With body paint distinguishing each side from the other, one the All Blacks and the other South Africa, the young men of Dunedin performed a haka, enacted closely-knit lineouts and weren't afraid to pile into a tackle or two.

It is suggested that ride organisers also schedule a secondary date in case of bad weather in early March/June.
